Remy Martin VSOP Mixtape

In preparation for New York’s celebration of Hip-Hop’s 50th birthday, Remy Martin approached BUCK to create an animation honoring artists across the 5 boroughs who played a pivotal role in the early days of the genre. Under the creative direction of Kendra Ryan and Doug Hindson, I researched and developed styleframes for a scene depicting the collision of music, dance, and spoken poetry in late 80’s Harlem that led to the birth of rap. Additional bits and pieces from my research process were repurposed by other members of the design team, and appear throughout the animation.
