Once, he took the train from New Orleans to Memphis and then drove around the Mississippi Delta armed with a camera. The resulting series, shot for Amtrak Magazine, is equal parts bleak and beautiful.&nbsp; Working closely with CD Taylor Boudreaux, I developed several brand refresh directions for Bryan. Additionally, I built out a collection of print assets that were designed to be folded into a branded newsprint document. create an animation honoring artists across the 5 boroughs who played a pivotal role in the early days of the genre. Under the creative direction of Kendra Ryan and Doug Hindson, I researched and developed styleframes for a scene depicting the collision of music, dance, and spoken poetry in late 80’s Harlem that led to the birth of rap. Additional bits and pieces from my research process were repurposed by other members of the design team, and appear throughout the animation. I was approached by founder Leah Thomas to create a visual voice for her new organization under a tight deadline. The final design centers a simple, universally accessible icon representing interconnectivity, along with a typographical nod to the funky grassroots origin of Earth Day (April 22, 1970) and the dawn of mainstream environmental activism.
